I work from my home for personal movement coaching and can also travel to your home.
How can I work with you if you do not live in my city?
Absolutely! I can offer services through Skype. While it is not the same as being face to face, you will find success too.
Is Nutritious Movement really for everyone?
Yes. It's preventative and restorative.
How is Wild by Nature Movement different to yoga?
In some ways, I liken the experience to yoga in the sense that some of the tools ie. yoga mats, bolsters and straps and space to practice are similar, but it is largely different as it is based biomechanics for alignment. I teach you your alignment in standing (starting from the feet up), and safely show you your true mobility boundaries and work to restore mobility from your starting point. Yoga is a movement practice too, but perhaps after learning nutritious movement you will adapt how you practice yoga to respect your true mobility boundaries. Rather than 'copy' a pose of what something 'should look like', you will learn to respect your body first, listen to the instructor second, and reduce chances of injury by respecting your alignment.
Does setting up a dynamic work station mean the same as 'Ergonomics'?
I find ergonomics to be a 'spot treatment' for an injury you have already created. Sometimes those who experience injury from repetitive use will be given a device or a quick fix. While ergonomics may lessen the degree of pain, Wild by Nature Movement helps you to restore and prevent and adapt your work space for better health outcomes. I will teach you how to stand, sit, take breaks, and integrate movement such as foot, calf, hand, wrist and shoulders stretches while being an effective, healthy and more creative worker. Your body will adapt new postures based on alignment and neutral spine and pelvis to create improved musculature. Your muscles will begin to 'switch on' to support your own spine rather than 'falling' into your chair and letting the chair create your shape or an adaptation to your body. I will educate you to do this safely, just as an effective orthodontist would to safely and slowly adjust teeth to a new position.
What happens if I am someone who gets excited to try a new health trend but quickly loses motivation?
I REALLY get to know my clients and REALLY listen. This does take time in our first meeting, but it is the key to a successful program. I dig into your lifestyle (typical day in your life), ask questions about your personality type and we work to create steps based on your unique self. I provide support such as setting manageable goals and text reminds that are visual in nature to help you become mindful of your current alignment. My goal as a teacher is to help you to independently layer in and notice how the implementation of heatlhy movements change your mechanics. Together we develop strategies that support your preferred learning style and pace.
Motivation is often fleeting, so together we create 'discipline' to develop daily HABIT.
